Creating your own Reality using The Accumulation Effect
by Barry Robin
Most often what we create comes forth one step/piece at a time. It is the human inclination to want it all at once, whatever it is, but we end up with what we accumulate over time: thus the concept-The Accumulation Effect.
We become what we accumulate; what we accumulate in things, and thoughts, and most all, in experiences. So how do we control this mechanism so that we can get whatever we want in life no matter what it is?
It can be love. It can be happiness. It can be health. It can be money. It can be spiritual in nature, and it can be material. It can even be both. How do we accumulate what we really desire? Take the artist Vincent Van Gogh; he created his reality one painting at a time. Take this blog post. It is being created one blog post at a time. In order to get the maximum accumulation, you have to do the maximum accumulating. And how do you do that? Every day you take an action that gets you own your way to adding to your accumulation.
Let's look at some different examples. Let's say that you want to accumulate love into your life. Every day you take loving actions where ever you are. You act loving towards all of those around you regardless of what actions they are taking or not taking. A love action would be anything that would send love from you on to another. It could be helping a stranger who is in distress solve a problem. It could be listening with love to a family member/friend in a non-judgmental loving way. It could be any positive action that you do for another without the expectation of anything in return. And by doing these actions every day you will accumulate a loving life experience where you will eventually attract love to you without even trying, because your actions themselves, like a karmic magnet, will accumulate, and create loving interactions and friendships with others automatically. It is also the best way to meet the love/loves of your life, if you haven't already.
Let's look at accumulating money. If every paycheck you put a fixed percentage away eventually that percentage of money will grow. How would you put money away? There are always old and new ways to do so. One way is just saving it in bank. Some jobs have savings accounts with better interest rates. Another way would be to save money every month in an index fund. This way you will pay the fund at all prices and end up with the average. Most people who end up with a substantial amount of money have done so by accumulating it over time by either old fashioned saving or investment. Any one accumulated amount may not seem like much, but over time, when your put all of the accumulations together, you can end up with a lot.
What keeps us from using the power of The Accumulation Effect? The Lack of Patience Effect. The thought that I want everything I want, and I want it all now! So what happens is since a person with this attitude only wants it all at once they do nothing in the present moment and therefore accumulate nothing. But the fallacy of this way of seeing things is that every big amount of money, as an example, is made up of lots of smaller amounts. Every successful relationship is made up of the lessons learned from many previous challenging relationships. Every successful experience is built on the accumulation of many previous failures.
Waiting for it all to happen at once becomes another excuse for procrastination and doing nothing. Why wait when you can start accumulating whatever you want right now! There are many people on the internet writing large quantities of imperfect books on amazon.com getting lots of experience as writers doing so. While it is better to take the time to proof read what you write before publishing it, those writers who release imperfect books on amazon are doing better than those writers who procrastinate and never release anything at all.
So the message is start accumulating now, whatever it is that you wish to accumulate. The more you accumulate, the bigger what you accumulate will get. More money begets more money! More love begets more love! More health begets more health. More friends begets more friends! More success begets more success! More creativity begets more creativity!
It is like using a muscle: either you use it, or you lose it! Either you accumulate, or you procrastinate. Why not accumulate today!
The secret to this is to get to the top of the mountain (which represents achieving your ultimate goal/goals) one step at a time, and all steps count, even baby steps.
And then there is the enjoying the journey aspect. Very often the journey you take to get there is actually even more satisfying then the completion of your goal. Enjoy every step (accumulation) along the way. Get into every step with the upmost enthusiasm and enjoyment! Live your life and love what you live and what you do!
Like a Van Gogh painting, accumulate a masterpiece! Your life is a masterpiece! Love your life! You are here to create it!
Create what you desire one accumulation at a time! Create your own Reality using The Accumulation Effect!
